Marco was one of the original Animorphs. He is the son of Peter and Eva and also Nora's step-son. He is noted most for his (alleged) sense of humor and his tactical mind. Being a millionaire, he also supports the war effort financially. He is short and Hispanic looking. Although for a time he drastically changed his appearance due to the necessity of disguising himself, he ceased using this disguise.
Canon History
Contains Spoilers
Marco's life seemed normal enough until his mother died. Then his life started to fall apart. His father lost his job and the two of them were forced into a bad part of town. Marco's life only got worse when he, Jake, Rachel, Cassie, and Tobias wandered through an abandoned construction site on their way home from the mall and met the dying Andalite Prince Elfangor, who recruited them to fight against the Yeerks.
From the beginning, Marco was the most reluctant of the Animorphs and even advised quitting the war altogether. He very nearly did so until book 5: The Predator in which he learned that his mother was the host of Visser One, the leader of the Yeerk Invasion. The war then became, for him, a personal quest to free her. This was accomplished in book 45: The Revelation.
Marco, in spite of his reservations, succeeded brilliantly after the war. He turned his pain into profit and became a millionaire. However, bored with his life, he went off with Jake at the end of the series to rescue Ax from The One.
Neomorphs History
Marco continued to be a voice of reason and caution in the Neomorphs series, even advising against such things as Jake's appointment of Tobias as the leader of the Animorphs, Tobias's alliance with Mersa 528, and even the war against The One altogether. Despite this, once a decision has gone against him, Marco continnues to work to the best of his abilities to make sure it succeeds.
Early in the war, Marco's mansion served as the main head quarters for the Animorphs, since it was by far large enough to fit them all. After their return to Omega Front, however, the mansion's place was taken by Rachel's house.
In book 67: The Loss, Marco lost his memory due to the stress of his life. He would wake up every morning remembering only vague details of his life. This problem was more or less healed in book 74: The Union when the Iskoort used their memory tools to force Marco to relive his own memories.
Personal Life
Marco remains Jake's best friend and most trusted soldier. None of the other Animorphs are especially close to him, with the exception of Jeanne Gerard, with whom he began a relationship in book 63: The Homecoming.

Aside from his memory loss, Marco has changed little from the original series.

Trivia
- Book 67: The Loss was originally titled The Revelation. Although this name was changed (due to the fact that there was already a book entitled The Revelation), the book is still sometimes accidentally referred to by its original title.
